So we need to reassess this dog days of summer thing because I have not been basking in a canine’s holy light of godliness. IDK about you, but dogs are really having their year as they’ve essentially become deities; if aliens invaded earth they would 100% think dogs were walking us. Because they are.
People everywhere care more about hundreds of dogs on instagram than their own blood relatives. My September existence is not on track to be on the same level of a pure bred French Bulldog who has free reign in a 3,000 ft² condo in TriBeCa. *writing this from my cubbyhole in Chinatown where I’m deciding what to complain about next; the demise of my metabolism, the F train, paying my health insurance, womanly inconveniences, the state of my stomach when it’s anything but full, how inefficient the USPS is, how shitty my nail beds are* In this paralyzingly expensive city where spending less that $20 at brunch is bargain (and also means you’re sober), milk the madness of the NYC taxes you pay and throw yourself into the warm weather activities you can only enjoy for a fleeting time.
